Two of Nigeria’s biggest players in film and distribution, Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group, have teamed up to launch Kava, a new global streaming platform dedicated exclusively to Nollywood and African storytelling.

Scheduled to go live in August 2025, Kava will debut with a catalogue of over 30 premium Nollywood films and series, including exclusive post-theatrical releases and a growing library of curated African content. New titles will be added weekly, offering audiences around the world consistent access to diverse, high-quality storytelling from Nigeria and beyond.
Among the first slate of films on Kava are:
Looking ahead, Kava’s leadership has expressed plans to develop original content exclusive to the platform, aiming to provide opportunities for both rising and established creatives. The initiative arrives at a time when demand for African content continues to grow, particularly among global and diaspora audiences, while major platforms have scaled back local commissioning.
Kava is co-led by Chinaza Onuzo CEO, Inkblot Studios and Kene Okwuosa Group CEO, Filmhouse Group, who will serve as co-CEOs of the platform. Supporting them is a four-member executive team:
Together, they’re building what is positioned to become the definitive destination for Nollywood content globally.
“Our vision with Kava is to redefine opportunity in Nollywood,” said Kene Okwuosa. “We’re building a platform that doesn’t just stream films – it fuels careers, drives innovation and connects African creativity to audiences around the world.”
Kava launches globally in August 2025.
