Richard Mofe-Damijo and Son Tega to Share Screen in New Biopic ‘Revelations’

Veteran Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) is set to headline a new feature film titled Revelations, scheduled for release on 15 August. The upcoming drama, described as a cross-continental production, marks the acting debut of RMD’s son, Tega Mofe-Damijo.

Revelations follows the life of Kesiana Voke, a Nigerian immigrant living in the United States, who faces a series of personal and professional challenges while pursuing a career as a surgical oncologist. Played by RMD, the character navigates a complex relationship with his American wife, Melissa, an oncologist at the fictional Ogden Valley Medical.

The film explores themes including infertility, emotional distance, cultural integration, and the tensions that arise in intercontinental marriages. As the couple builds a seemingly successful life in the US, their relationship is tested by unspoken secrets that threaten their union and careers.

Produced by Tanya Price, who also features in a lead role, the film is set in both Nigeria and the American West, offering contrasting visual landscapes that reflect the duality of the characters’ lives. According to the producers, Revelations aims to blend Nollywood’s narrative structure with Hollywood’s cinematic language, providing a new direction for African storytelling on screen.

The supporting cast includes Chioma Chukwuka, Alex Boyé, and Ryon Thomas. Tega Mofe-Damijo plays a key supporting role, and his participation has drawn attention due to the father-son collaboration on a semi-autobiographical storyline.

Beyond its family ties, Revelations incorporates medically accurate scenes—an uncommon feature in most Nollywood productions—and integrates a range of professional and personal conflicts faced by immigrants in the diaspora.

Filming took place across Utah in the United States and several locations in Nigeria. The project has been noted by industry analysts for its attempt to bridge cultural narratives through a globally accessible lens.

Revelations will be available in cinemas from 15 August.
